What is the Unpaid Carers Discount?
Unpaid carers play a vital role in supporting some of the most vulnerable members of the community, often at significant cost to their own health and wellbeing. Access to leisure facilities has been shown to be particularly valuable in helping carers stay active, reduce feelings of isolation and enjoy opportunities for social interaction. Inclusive features, such as specialised changing rooms for wheelchair users, have also been highlighted as making a meaningful difference.
Under the now permanent scheme, unpaid carers will continue to benefit from:
- Free access under the age of 18
- A 25% discount on our £41 all-inclusive membership aged 18 and over
- A 20% discount on casual sessions
- No peak-time restrictions at Active Mid Devon centres
Who is eligible and what more do I need to know?
The offer is available to eligible individuals, including:
- Those holding a Carers Passport
- Young carers with a Young Carers ID Card issued by the Devon Carers Young Carers service
- And parent carers of children who hold a Max Card from Devon County Council
